Breyer Model Horses

Each Breyer model is a work of art that begins on a sculptor's table, where equine artists painstakingly define and capture each detail, from the technical aspects of bone structure and muscle tone to the more ephemeral aspects of character, mood and expression. The final pieces are cast in steel, then injection molded out of cellulose acetate, and finally hand-painted and airbrushed to attain their realistic appearance. Each model is handled by as many as twenty different artisans in the Breyer factory, creating a unique piece with each figure.

Famous horses from literature and the arts plus all of the popular breeds and disciplines have been represented in the Breyer line, including such celebrated horses as Secretariat, The Black Stallion, Misty of Chincoteague, and Seabiscuit. Produced in five sizes from the 1/9 scale Traditional Series (that's 1/9 scale in proportion to a real horse!) to the diminutive Stablemates Series at 1/32 scale, Breyer models are part of many a fond childhood memory.
