Draft Horses

A draft horse is a member of any breed of cold-blooded, heavy boned, muscular horse bred for heavy work such as farming, logging, and drayage. Many draft breeds are descended from destrier-type horses, which were used to carry heavily armored knights into battle in the early Middle Ages. Modern draft breeds can weigh up to one ton, but are as well-known for their gentle dispositions and trainability as they are for their impressive size.
